Cathy’s Critters’ on-going mission is to educate kids and families about rural life, science, our food supply, and America's agrarian roots.

We want to instill a sense of belonging to our world through farming and a better understanding of the natural world in which we live, and which gives us life.

We will have three 1-week sessions this summer in two age groups with activities in the following themes:

Animal Care of Farm and Exotic Animals: Includes hands-on instruction, a one-hour petting zoo, fun facts and activities with animal fiber including llama hair and wool.

Horse Care: grooming, safety, equipment, health, types of riding.

Goat-Milking: Hands-on practice and more information about dairy farms and products.

Science: Microscope exploration of pond water, solar power, others.

Crafts and Games – wheel pottery and cooking.

Organic Gardening: Help plant and fertilize with farm-made compost.

3 One-Week Sessions Available:
June 21-25
July 12-16
August 9-13

Camp will be from 9am – 1pm daily, including a picnic every afternoon, so campers should bring their own lunch (drinks and slushees will be provided). Conveniently located in Collin County, near McKinney:

Every registered child receives a "Critter Camp 2010" T-shirt on the first day of camp. The forest green logo was designed by local artist, Adrian Zuniga.

Additional hats and shirts can be purchased for kids or adults for $15 per shirt, or $12 per hat. Preorder on your registration form and take a $1 discount per item, or purchase when you sign in on the first day of camp.

Critter Campers: Ages 8-12
Cria Kids: Ages 5-7
Counselors-in-training (volunteers): Ages 15+
Counselors' aides (volunteers): Ages 13-15

Here are pictures from our first-ever Critter Camp.

If you are a parent and would like a custom CD of your child's week at Cathy's Critters, just send us an email at reservations@cathys-critters.com and we'll discuss the details. This CD will be filled with print-ready pictures of general activities of the week plus 15-20 pictures featuring your child in some of the many different activities they enjoyed.

If you are interested in signing up for the 3rd session (July 12-16), please contact Lisa as quickly as possible, as this session is filling up fast.

For more information on a possible extra camp to be held in late July or August, contact the office to express your interest, or just send us an email to let us know you'd like to be put on the list, and what dates would be possible for you (choose from the weeks starting July 26, Aug 2, Aug 9, or Aug 16)
