About Cathy's Critters
Cathy Smith is a degreed zoologist with a love for animals and a passion for facilitating Human Animal Interaction (HAI). She has introduced her "Critters", large and small, to tens of thousands of kids in the Dallas/Fort Worth area since 2005 through Cathy's Critters, which provides mobile petting zoo and pony rides to birthday parties, schools, churches, company parties, and other community events.


School Assembly Presentations / Programs
We have two programs designed for presentation to large audience which are fun, funny, educational, and aligned with the Texas educational standards (TEKS). The first is about farm animals, some familiar and some not so familiar. The second exhibits exotic animals from around the world. Both are designed to get kids thinking about science and nature, and to develop an appreciation and empathy for other creatures.

"A Day On The Farm"
Follow a farmer around for a day as she does her chores, feeding, milking, and taking care of a few surprises as well. With our live animal actors, the kids will learn interesting facts about biology, ecology, the hard work it takes to bring food to their tables, and have fun all the while.

"Worldwide Safari"
Your host has gone to almost every continent and brought back specimens for us to study. Join her as she tells stories about how these fascinating animals live in nature, how their adaptations enable them to survive in their environment, and how they differ from each other in terms of raising their young, finding food, and walking, burrowing, or gliding around their environment.


Pricing
In the DFW area, no travel fees apply, and discounts are available for multiple back-to-back presentations at the same school. If you represent a non-profit or civic group (scouts, public libraries, 4-H club, etc), and will agree to host a presentation open to the public we can market it to local schools and daycares to help boost turnout and exposure for your organization.
